SYNERGIZING EDUCATION RIGHTS AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: An IMPERATIVE FOR ALIGNMENT AND ACTION
Keywords:
Education rights, Sustainable development, Policy coherenceAbstract
This paper examines the critical intersection between education rights and sustainable development, highlighting the imperative of aligning these two essential components for global progress. Education is not only a fundamental human right but also a catalyst for achieving sustainable development goals. By ensuring equitable access to quality education for all, including marginalized and vulnerable populations, societies can foster economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. However, persistent gaps in educational access, quality, and relevance hinder progress towards sustainable development targets. This paper argues for a concerted effort to synergize education rights with sustainable development initiatives, emphasizing the need for policy coherence, investment in education infrastructure, teacher training, curriculum development, and community engagement. Through strategic alignment and collective action, stakeholders can unlock the transformative power of education to advance sustainable development and build a more just and prosperous future for all.
