Abstract

This study aims to unravel the multifaceted factors influencing family expenditure on education in India. Education expenditure is a critical component of household budgets, reflecting priorities, socio-economic status, and aspirations for human capital development. Through a comprehensive analysis of household survey data and econometric modeling techniques, this research identifies key determinants shaping educational spending patterns in Indian families. Factors examined include household income, parental education level, family size, urban-rural residence, and government policies such as subsidies and scholarships. Insights from this study provide valuable information for policymakers, educators, and stakeholders to design targeted interventions and initiatives aimed at promoting equitable access to quality education and reducing disparities in educational expenditure.
