Abstract

This article is devoted to a comparative analysis of the binary concept “friend/enemy” and the means of its verbalization in the Russian and English languages. The study examines the theoretical foundations of the notion of “concept” in cognitive linguistics, the characteristics of binary (antonymic) concepts and related phenomena (frames, scenarios, etc.).
