Abstract

The article explores the educational potential of folklore in the process of shaping the personality of youth. It emphasizes that folklore, as a reflection of the spiritual and cultural values of a people, has a significant impact on the moral, aesthetic, and cognitive development of students. The author identifies three key functions of folklore—educational, aesthetic, and cognitive—and analyzes their influence on the formation of patriotism, national self-awareness, moral behavior, and the social adaptation of young people.
