Abstract

This study focuses on the tourism potential of the Samarkand region, exploring its historical, cultural, and natural attractions. The research analyzes major historical landmarks, including Registan Square, Bibi-Khanym Mosque, and the Shah-i-Zinda complex, as well as local cultural festivals, handicrafts, and culinary traditions. The study also examines the existing tourism infrastructure, including hotels, transportation networks, and service quality, to assess visitor satisfaction and opportunities for sustainable tourism development. Findings suggest that developing tourism in Samarkand contributes to economic growth, job creation, cultural preservation, and environmental sustainability, while enhancing the region’s competitiveness in national and international tourism markets.
