ANALYSIS OF OPTIONS FOR USING PROJECT-BASED LEARNING METHOD IN DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ INTERCULTURAL COMPETENCE
Keywords:
project-based learning, intercultural competence, collaborative projects, cultural awareness, active learning, higher educationAbstract
This article analyzes various options for implementing project-based learning (PBL) to enhance intercultural competence among university students. Through critical examination of existing literature and pedagogical practices, the study explores three prominent approaches: collaborative international projects, community engagement projects, and digital storytelling projects. The analysis examines theoretical foundations, pedagogical mechanisms, implementation considerations, and comparative advantages of each approach. Findings reveal that while all three options offer valuable pathways for developing intercultural competence, they differ significantly in their focus, resource requirements, and suitability for diverse educational contexts. This work contributes to pedagogical discourse on how active learning methodologies can address the growing need for intercultural competence in globalized educational and professional environments.
