The Uyghur folk music repertoire employs a wide variety of musical instruments, which are the result of centuries of the ingenuity and labor of our ancestors. This article provides a detailed overview of one of the modern Uyghur instruments—the satar—focusing on its shape, construction, and tuning criteria.
