Abstract

This article examines the psychological characteristics of communication difficulties observed during adolescence, a period marked by intense emotional, cognitive, and social development. The research highlights how heightened sensitivity, identity formation, peer influence, and unmet emotional needs contribute to misunderstandings, increased conflict, and avoidance behaviors in interpersonal communication. Special attention is given to the role of self-esteem, emotional regulation skills, and social anxiety as key determinants shaping adolescents’ communication patterns. The study also analyzes how family dynamics and school environments can either mitigate or intensify these challenges. The findings offer practical recommendations for educators, parents, and psychologists to support healthy communication competencies in adolescents.
