Emotional intelligence (EI) is increasingly recognized as a critical component of both personal and professional development. It encompasses the ability to perceive, understand, regulate, and utilize emotions effectively, influencing cognitive processes, social interactions, and decision-making. In education, EI significantly affects students’ learning outcomes, social adaptation, and overall well-being. This paper explores the theoretical foundations of emotional intelligence, its components, and practical applications in educational settings. Strategies for developing EI among students and educators are examined, emphasizing the integration of social-emotional learning programs, reflective practices, and mindfulness techniques. Fostering emotional competencies is essential for creating a supportive learning environment, enhancing motivation, collaboration, and resilience, and ultimately promoting academic and personal success.
