Abstract

This article demonstrates that the use of mind maps can effectively contribute to the development of students’ logical and non-standard thinking skills. Based on the mind maps “The World of Plants”, constructed using information about plants, and “Fruits”, developed from data related to fruits, the study presents methods for enhancing students’ imagination and creative thinking abilities. The proposed questions are designed to foster logical thinking skills such as analysis, comparison, generalization, and clarification, while the subsequent tasks aim to develop imagination, promote the use of analogy and metaphor, and strengthen non-standard thinking skills associated with emotional perception. The teacher’s creative application of mind maps and the stimulation of students’ intrinsic motivation play a crucial role in developing their imaginative capacity and holistic thinking skills. The article is intended for primary school teachers in general education institutions as well as students of pedagogical institutes.
