Abstract

Asthma is one of the most common chronic respiratory diseases in children, characterized by airway inflammation, bronchial hyperresponsiveness, and recurrent episodes of wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath. Inhalation therapy is a primary treatment strategy, as it allows direct delivery of medication to the airways, ensuring rapid symptom relief and minimal systemic side effects. This article reviews the efficacy of various inhaled medications in pediatric asthma, including inhaled corticosteroids, short-acting beta-agonists, long-acting beta-agonists, and combination therapies. Clinical studies indicate that proper use of inhalation therapy significantly improves lung function, reduces the frequency of exacerbations, and enhances quality of life for children with asthma. The importance of individualized treatment plans, adherence to therapy, and correct inhaler technique is emphasized to achieve optimal disease control.
