Abstract

Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols are widely used in adult surgical practice and have proven effective in reducing complications, shortening hospital stay, and improving clinical outcomes. In recent years, interest has grown in adapting ERAS protocols for pediatric patients; however, their implementation in children remains limited. The aim of this study was to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of ERAS protocol implementation in pediatric patients. Data from 92 children aged 5–14 years who underwent elective surgery at the Republican Children’s Surgery Center were analyzed. Length of hospital stay, postoperative pain intensity, complication rates, and recovery time were evaluated. The results indicate that adapted ERAS protocols can be safely and effectively implemented in pediatric surgical practice, contributing to improved perioperative outcomes.
