Abstract

This study examines how digital tools contribute to the development of speaking skills in learners of English as a foreign language (EFL). It explores the role of mobile applications, online communication platforms, speech recognition programs, and interactive learning environments in enhancing pronunciation, fluency, accuracy, and communicative competence. Special attention is given to features such as instant feedback, multimedia support, learner autonomy, and increased exposure to authentic language input. The paper also discusses the motivational effects of gamified tasks and virtual interaction with peers and native speakers. Potential challenges—including digital literacy gaps, dependence on technology, and unequal access to devices—are addressed. The findings suggest that when integrated thoughtfully into pedagogical practice, digital tools create rich opportunities for meaningful oral communication, reduce speaking anxiety, and support personalized learning. The study concludes that digital technologies are an effective supplement to traditional classroom instruction and can significantly accelerate the development of EFL learners’ speaking skills.
