IDENTIFICATION, PREVENTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE RISK OF RE-SCARRING IN ACUTE INTESTINAL OBSTRUCTION
Keywords:

Acute intestinal obstruction remains one of the most urgent conditions in abdominal surgery, frequently associated with high morbidity and mortality. One of the major causes of recurrent obstruction is postoperative adhesion formation, which leads to repeated surgical interventions and deterioration of patients’ quality of life. This article aims to analyze the risk factors for recurrent adhesion formation in acute intestinal obstruction, evaluate existing preventive strategies, and propose approaches for improving clinical outcomes. The study synthesizes current surgical, pathophysiological, and preventive perspectives, emphasizing early risk identification, optimized surgical techniques, and evidence-based adhesion prevention measures. The findings highlight the importance of an integrated approach in reducing adhesion-related complications and improving long-term outcomes in patients with acute intestinal obstruction.
