Thoracic organ injuries represent a major challenge in emergency and trauma surgery due to their high morbidity, mortality, and diagnostic complexity. Accurate and timely identification of intrathoracic damage is critical for determining optimal treatment strategies and improving patient outcomes. In recent years, video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) has gained increasing recognition as a minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic tool in the management of chest trauma. This study aims to evaluate current videothoracoscopic approaches in the diagnosis and treatment of thoracic organ injuries and to identify effective methods for improving their clinical application. The analysis focuses on diagnostic accuracy, surgical efficiency, postoperative outcomes, and complication rates associated with VATS. The findings indicate that the optimized use of videothoracoscopy allows for early detection of occult thoracic injuries, reduces postoperative complications, shortens hospital stay, and enhances overall treatment effectiveness. The study emphasizes the importance of early intervention, standardized clinical protocols, and advanced surgical training in improving videothoracoscopic outcomes in thoracic trauma care.
