This study examines the critical cybersecurity challenges faced by smart cities and explores effective solutions to protect digital infrastructures, public services, and sensitive data [1, 2, 5]. The research analyzes threats such as unauthorized access, data breaches, ransomware attacks, and vulnerabilities in Internet of Things (IoT) devices used in smart city ecosystems [3, 4, 6]. Various approaches are evaluated, including advanced encryption methods, secure communication protocols, intrusion detection systems, and policy-driven cybersecurity frameworks [2, 7, 8]. The results highlight the importance of integrating technology, governance, and user awareness to enhance resilience against cyber threats [1, 6]. This work provides practical recommendations for city planners, IT specialists, and policymakers to secure smart city operations and ensure safe, reliable digital services [5, 9, 10].
