Abstract

Pathophysiology, as the scientific analysis of functional disorders of the body, plays a crucial role in understanding the mechanisms underlying disease processes. This study explores contemporary perspectives on functional disorders, emphasizing their complex and multifactorial nature. Recent advances in neuroscience, systems biology, and molecular medicine reveal that many disorders arise from dysregulation of interconnected physiological systems rather than structural abnormalities alone. The paper highlights the importance of the biopsychosocial model, predictive processing theories, and network-based approaches in explaining disease mechanisms. Furthermore, challenges related to diagnosis, lack of reliable biomarkers, and gaps in clinical implementation are discussed. The findings underscore the need for integrative, interdisciplinary, and personalized approaches to improve diagnosis, treatment, and healthcare outcomes in modern medicine.
