Abstract

The Sogdiana state was a major political and cultural region located in ancient Central Asia, which played a central role in the economic, political, and cultural life of the region from the early pre-Christian period. This article presents a scientific analysis of the system of city-states in Sogdiana, its economic strength, trade relations, cultural heritage, and religious tolerance. Based on archaeological findings, ancient sources, and written documents, the political independence of Sogdian cities, their governance system, craftsmanship, and trade activities are examined. The article also shows that Sogdian culture extended beyond local boundaries and reached regions such as Eastern Turkestan, China, and the Near East through transregional influences. At the same time, it is emphasized that Sogdian writing, art, and religious views played an important role in ensuring social stability in the region. The research findings confirm that the Sogdiana state holds a unique and strong position within the context of the ancient political and economic civilization of Central Asia.
