This article presents a comparative study of labor-related proverbs in English and Uzbek languages. Proverbs are valuable linguistic units that reflect the cultural values, traditions, and worldview of a nation. Labor-related proverbs, in particular, demonstrate people’s attitudes toward work, diligence, responsibility, and success. The study aims to identify the similarities and differences between English and Uzbek proverbs connected with labor and to analyze their semantic, stylistic, and cultural features. Comparative analysis shows that both languages highly appreciate hard work, wise use of time, and the importance of effort in achieving success. At the same time, certain differences are observed due to national mentality and historical development. English proverbs often emphasize individual responsibility, punctuality, and practical results, while Uzbek proverbs focus on collective labor, moral values, patience, and agricultural traditions.
