Abstract

This article examines the pedagogical and psychological significance of using fairy tales in primary education. It analyzes the role of fairy tales in developing pupils’ imaginative thinking, speech competence, moral consciousness, emotional perception, and creative abilities. The article also highlights effective ways of integrating fairy tales into the educational process through dramatization, role-playing, problem-based learning, interactive methods, and creative tasks. Special attention is given to the importance of folk tales in forming national values, patriotism, kindness, justice, and respect for others. The study emphasizes that fairy tales are not only literary texts, but also powerful didactic tools that support the intellectual, moral, emotional, and social development of primary school pupils.
