Abstract

Based on the order issued by the governor of Bukhara region on September 11, 2001, the subscription processes for periodicals for 2002 were organized. The study was conducted based on documents stored in the Bukhara Regional State Archive. The subscription plan was analyzed by the issues allocated to newspapers and magazines in the context of cities and districts, as well as the funds allocated to libraries and their composition were studied. The results showed that although the subscription policy is aimed at meeting the population's information needs, most of the funds are directed to magazines published in Russia. The discussion section emphasizes that this situation does not meet local needs. In conclusion, it is noted that it is necessary to focus subscription policy on supporting local newspapers and magazines.
