THE IMPORTANCE OF EFFECTIVE LESSON PLANNING IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING

Effective lesson planning is a fundamental component of successful English Language Teaching (ELT). It provides structure, direction, and coherence to classroom instruction, ensuring that learning objectives are clearly defined and achieved. This article examines the importance of effective lesson planning in ELT and its impact on teaching quality, learner engagement, classroom management, and language skill development. The study analyzes key elements of lesson planning, including objectives, materials, activities, assessment, and time management. It also discusses the role of lesson planning in supporting communicative language teaching and learner-centered education. The findings show that well-designed lesson plans enhance teaching efficiency, improve student motivation, and ensure systematic development of language skills. The article concludes that effective lesson planning is essential for achieving successful learning outcomes in English language education.
