Abstract

Abstract. The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies has significantly transformed educational practices worldwide, particularly in the field of language learning. AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT, Grammarly, QuillBot, and other intelligent writing assistants have become increasingly popular among English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. These tools provide real-time feedback, grammar correction, vocabulary enhancement, and writing suggestions that can improve students' writing skills and learning experiences. This study investigates the impact of AI tools on EFL students' writing performance and motivation. Through a review of recent literature and theoretical perspectives, the research examines how AI-assisted writing environments influence writing quality, learner autonomy, engagement, and motivation. The findings indicate that AI tools contribute positively to writing development by improving grammatical accuracy, vocabulary use, coherence, and organization. Furthermore, they enhance learners' confidence and motivation by providing immediate support and personalized feedback. However, concerns regarding overreliance on technology, academic integrity, and reduced critical thinking skills remain significant challenges. The study concludes that AI tools can serve as valuable educational resources when integrated appropriately into EFL writing instruction.
