Abstract (in English): This study examines, from both theoretical and empirical perspectives, the role of pedagogical innovations in enhancing academic motivation within the educational process. Drawing on international research and local pedagogical practice in Uzbekistan, the study argues that motivation – as the primary driver of learning – is significantly amplified when innovative teaching approaches are systematically applied. Problem-based learning, project-based instruction, gamification, digital platforms, and interactive methodologies are shown to cultivate students' intrinsic cognitive needs, transforming passive recipients into active participants in their own education. The research further explores the teacher's evolving role as facilitator in innovation-driven environments and offers evidence-based methodological recommendations for implementing pedagogical innovations in educational practice.
