CODIFICATION OF TERMS IN EXPLANATORY DICTIONARIES OF THE UZBEK LANGUAGE

This scientific article is devoted to the study of the process of codification of terms in explanatory dictionaries of the Uzbek language. It explains the standardization of terms in linguistic and scientific-technical systems, the principles and normative bases of their definition in explanatory dictionaries. The article analyzes the important stages of the codification process - the process of choosing terms, determining their lexical-semantic features, adapting them to international standards, and creating equivalents in accordance with national language rules. Also, special attention is paid to terminological problems and ways to solve them, including the development of terms for new fields and technologies, their promotion in official documents and public publications. The results of the study offer recommendations aimed at improving the scientifically based approach to creating explanatory dictionaries and ensuring language unity. This article serves as an important theoretical and practical resource for linguists, terminologists and lexicographers.
