UNVEILING THERMOELASTIC INSIGHTS: DROP-WEIGHT IMPACT TESTING OF CARBON FIBER REINFORCED COMPOSITES
Keywords:
Thermoelastic behavior, Carbon Fiber Reinforced Composites (CFRCs), Thermal modelingAbstract
This research delves into the thermoelastic behavior of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Composites (CFRCs) through the innovative application of drop-weight impact testing. CFRCs are widely used in aerospace, automotive, and structural applications due to their exceptional mechanical properties. However, understanding their thermoelastic response is crucial for assessing their performance in extreme environments. The study investigates how impact testing can reveal insights into the complex thermoelastic behavior of CFRCs, shedding light on their structural integrity under varying temperature conditions. Through a comprehensive analysis of impact test results and thermal modeling, this research offers valuable contributions to the understanding of CFRCs' thermal response and their applicability in high-performance engineering.
