CHALLENGES AND RECOMMENDATIONS IN ADMINISTRATION TEACHER EDUCATION: A NIGERIAN PERSPECTIVE

Abstract

This study delves into the multifaceted challenges facing the administration of teacher education in Nigeria and offers strategic recommendations to address these issues. Teacher education plays a pivotal role in shaping the quality of education and ultimately the socio-economic development of the nation. However, Nigeria's teacher education system faces numerous challenges, including inadequate funding, outdated curriculum, insufficient infrastructure, and a shortage of qualified faculty. This paper examines these challenges within the Nigerian context and proposes actionable recommendations to enhance the effectiveness and relevance of teacher education administration. Drawing on empirical research, policy analysis, and expert insights, the study aims to inform policymakers, educators, and stakeholders about the critical issues facing teacher education administration in Nigeria and chart a path forward for sustainable improvement.
